The Bakery and Pastry Skills Development Program is an initiative designed to empower Liberian youth with employable skills in the baking and pastry arts. The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and practical experience necessary to excel in the food and hospitality industry, fostering pathways to employment or entrepreneurship

Program Features
  • Comprehensive Training Curriculum:  The program covers a wide range of skills, including bread making, cake decoration, pastry creation, business management, and food safety standards. Participants will learn both traditional and modern baking techniques.
  • Collaborative Partnerships:  The program is delivered in collaboration with vocational and technical schools across Liberia. These partnerships ensure high-quality training and expand access to learning opportunities.
  • Dual Certification: Upon successful completion, participants will receive two certifications:
    – A certificate of completion from the partnered vocational or technical school. 
    A certificate of achievement from the Mishael Bia-Garyar Jewell Bates Vocational Training Program, a prestigious credential signifying advanced skills and professional readiness.
  • Hands-On Experience:  Participants will gain practical experience through workshops, internships, and live projects, including creating baked goods for community events and local businesses. 
  • Entrepreneurial Training: The program includes sessions on business planning, marketing, and customer service, equipping participants with the tools to start their own bakery or pastry business.
  • To reduce youth unemployment in Liberia by equipping participants with marketable skills.
  • To enhance Liberia’s vocational education system through strategic partnerships.
  • To foster entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance among Liberian youth.

The program is open to both male and female youth aged 18-35 with a passion for baking and a commitment to personal and professional growth.
