Our goal is to spread hope and create opportunities for today’s youth, empowering them to rebuild their communities and lead fulfilling lives.
Our Story
he vision for the vocational center came to life for Adolphus and his wife, Mercy Bates, after their 25-year-old son, Jewel, went to take a nap and never woke up. In the midst of their grief, the Bates family prays that the Lord will turn this tragedy into something beautiful.
Building a vocational center in their birthplace, Careysburg, Liberia—a place Jewel was planning to visit just a few months before his sudden departure—is a way to honor his memory. The center will provide crucial training in vocational skills, free of charge, to young adults.
Liberia is a country still recovering from decades of civil war. Today’s young adults were born into communities that are deeply scarred. Many communities lack affordable vocational training, perpetuating the cycle of poverty and hopelessness.
By providing opportunities for success, we aim to give young adults a way out of poverty and an alternative to destructive habits and despair. Join us in our mission to teach valuable skills, open new opportunities, and spread hope to the future generations of Liberians.
